A school-based speech-language pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Birmingham, AL, serving students from kindergarten through 5th grade at an elementary school. This contract position runs from August 6, 2025, through May 23, 2026, and involves working with a caseload of 40-60 students, primarily providing speech services to the special education population.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy services tailored to students' individual needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement effective communication goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in compliance with school policies
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to team decisions
Qualifications And Experience
- Current and active Speech-Language Pathology license in Alabama
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) is preferred
- Experience in a school setting working with K-12 students, particularly within special education populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and multidisciplinary teams
